Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is the perfect compliment to your Taekwondo training.
BJJ is a ground-based martial that uses leverage to move, manipulate and submit (tap) your opponent.
Originally, the Japanese Martial Art of Jujutsu, BJJ was molded by the Gracie and Maeda families in Brazil in the early 1900's before being passed through the Gracie family to 5th Degree Cleber Luciano and to my teacher, 3rd Degree Sean Cooper.
Our BJJ classes at Lakeway TaeKwonDo are family oriented with mothers, fathers and children are participating together. Children learn to control their opponent without striking, mothers learn to feel more comfortable in other people's space, fathers get to wrestle as they did when they were younger and everyone learns added techniques to protect themselves physically while on the ground.
Our BJJ program is an add-on that works on a drop-in basis. Presently, classes are offered on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm and Saturdays at 11:00 am.
