Taekwondo Forms, or "poomsae" or "hyung" in Korean, are an integral part of the Martial Art. They serve as a choreographed "fight" that allow practitioners to work on their defensive and offensive techniques, strikes, blocks and stances in a set pattern.
Forms should be executed with confidence, grace, power, balance, and proper rhythm. At Lakeway TaeKwonDo, we require the WTF Taegeuk throughout, the ITF Hyung starting at Red Belt, and then add in the older series of WTF Palgwe at the Black Belt level. Some of the following links below will lead to videos, while others to diagrams.
**Please note that the following videos are to serve as guides and are not a substitute for in-class training and instruction. Please refer all questions to your Instructors.**
In addition to the those listed below, we also require, at 1st Dan, a Form called Palsek, or alternately Bassai and Passai.
